The Hantaviruses are a group of rodent-borne viruses that cause illness in humans. The hantaviruses found in Europe and Asia cause a form of kidney disease called hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS). Coronavirus is still spreading around the world and many deaths are being reported, meanwhile is a report of one death due to Orthohantavirus or Hantaviruses in China. According to the reports by China’s English tabloid, Global Times, on Monday, China reported an outbreak of a deadly viral disease caused due to infection of Orthohantavirus or Hantaviruses. According to the report, one person from Yunnan Province died on his way to Shandong Province for work. He was travelling in the chartered bus carrying other 32 people. Other people were also tested by the authorities. This news might be a warning sign to the health authorities in China and the world.
